Finished Basement Walls

Aaaah.....now it looks like a basement!  The first photo is of the forms being pulled off of the walls.  It is amazing to me that the walls have hardened enough for them to pull the forms the very next day, not even 24 hours after pouring.  The remaining pictures are of the finished walls.  Mike Miller and his crew applied a waterproofing product that has a lifetime warranty.  The installation is critical as well as the back fill procedure to ensure that the warranty will not be nullified.   Mike explained that the perforation on the dimple board that was used allows the water to drop to the bottom of the wall and drain away.  The static pressure from the dirt around the basement will not force the water into the basement walls through any imperfection.

Removing the forms from the freshly poured walls.

This is the escape window.  It is very big and will let a lot of light into the basement.

The front porch is the square in the middle.

The back left is the master suite.

This is a picture of the full basement from on top of the dirt pile.

A photo of the waterproofing application.
